It’s International Women’s Day
🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
I am again reflecting on the super exceptional women I’ve been fortunate and blessed to have / had in my life.
To my mother resting in heaven and my guardian angel, who told me to get an education because no one can ever take it away. To keep learning no matter how old you get. To be a lady always and not to forget the power of prayer. To always remember that I am inferior to no one!
To Aunt’s, adopted aunts and generous good eggs, who showed me how to love and showered me with attention, style and elegance and told me to ‘go do you’. That message has been consistent even to this day.
To a incredible teacher Miss Brenda Able, who recognised that I had a brain and encouraged me to use it, stay curious and work hard.
To my number 1 Girls, my daughters Grace and Alicya who teach me something new nearly every day and allow me to do a job I love and adore, that of a mum.
To my niece who helps to keep me young at heart and tells me she loves me to infinity and beyond, that’s love indeed.
To my sister and sister-friend’s who check in with me always to see how I am doing, sharing their knowledge, resources and so much more.
To all my girl cousins – we are family and we are simple collectively awesome.
To my mentees and all the women I coach / have coached. You make mentor and coaching easier and fulfilling. Work colleagues turned life long friends. You make my working life one to proud of.
To all the outstanding, hard working and incredible mothers, grand-mothers, god mothers, surrogates and adopters. Know that you are all phenomenal, powerful, resourceful beyond and beyond.
The saying goes that behind every successful man there is a solid woman this we won’t deny. But it’s also true that behind some successful women is another woman showing how it can be done, living by example and being role models, and believing in each other.
Holding up each other when we are down, offering advice and providing food and tissues when required. Providing deep belly laughs when needed. Showing empathy and kindness, during menopause, illness, bereavement and all the other challenges life throws our way. We all need each other and no one is an island.
Build your team well, surround yourself with the positive, can-do individuals. Take some time out of your day today to say ‘THANKS’ to the women who help you to shine and thrive.
…. And to all the outstanding and truly remarkable men who love us, cherish us, and hold a space for us to continue to flourish and shine, we love, thank you and salute you
Happy International Women’s day! Be empowered, don’t give up, stay blessed and keep reaching and achieving your goals.

Skills are the new currency.
Becoming a super learner is easier than you may think. Skills are the new currency and going forward we have to keep them fresh, current and up to date.
The world of work is changing and moving at an extraordinary pace.
The IBM CEO Ginni Rometty introduced Think 40 some years ago. That is .. 40 hours of education per year. That’s only 3.3 hours per month, not as difficult as one may think. Adopting this thinking, could make a significant difference to your future.

Kindness doesn’t take a lot of effort but means so much.

Sincerely Me
