I’m reading an article on growth at the moment. I thought I would share.
We are often advised to look after our physical hearts by exercising and eating good fats. Not too often are we reminded to take care of our emotional heart. Yes our emotional heart!!! You know, That part of us that can feel hurt so deeply, in fact excruciating pain, causes us to vomit like something has to get out, brings tears to the eyes and leaves us with deep questions. It can often side track us for quite some time, months and even years. So deep is the pain we can often recall it, in a moment, in an instance years after the event.
Eradicating bad feelings and emotional hurt takes practice, time and patience. Hurts can accumulate and grab us by the neck in an unexpected way until we take notice.
If someone has hurt you learn to forgive. This doesn’t mean you’ll forget all together but whilst you keep brooding about it that person has moved on and you thinking about them doesn’t impact them at all. All we do is rekindle the old hurts.
Love your heart in a special way, do something that makes your heart glad and your soul sing, do it often. Give it some fertiliser and a good old pruning. Get rid of weeds and old roots.
My mantra for the last 3-5 years has been ‘Everyday in every way my life gets better and better’. I’ve now added to this line ‘Everyday in every way my heart gets better and better’. It’s a thing of beauty, a fine piece of engineering, delicate and precious. It’s served me well and I no longer allow anyone to steel my joy.
Have a think about it and reclaim your emotional heart, love it and care for it. It’s one life, live it, cherish it and live it well.
Stay blessed peeps x
