So this evening sports history was made. Tiger Woods is back. He is again the Masters golf champion for the 5th time.
He said he kept the focus and presence. Keeping his emotions in check and being in the moment. He hasn’t won a championship for some 14 years nor a green jacket for 20 years.
During that time most of the sponsors fell away, the newspaper and social media mocked him. He experienced a point of deep shame. But today with his skills, his gifts, master time, personal commitment, practice and persistence he roared home to success. Hugging his son as a father in the same way that his father hugged him after many championship when he was alive.
What lessons to learn and draw from this? love him or not, I’ve got to salute The Tiger, who stayed the course, remained dedicated and blocked out the noise.
It’s only over when you say it is.
Remember …. It’s NEVER too late.
